Biden Vs Trump US Election 2020

Hey Bloggers!

Today is one of the most important elections in decades!

The US Election 2020: Biden vs Trump!

Even though I'm of course in NZ.

Our topic for today has been the election.

Here is a presentation of what I have learnt so far....

I definitely learned a lot more about Biden and Trump than I knew before.
It changed how I looked at Biden and Trump as future presidents of the USA.
Also, Trump's rally doesn't wear masks (only about a few hundred do);Gov. Ducey should stop Trump campaign rally; it's a public health threat

 Whereas Biden's rally does.

  • Biden's Promises Slide 3 & 4
  • Trump's Promises Slide 5 & 6
  • Trump Slide 7
  • Biden Slide 8
  • Some of Trump's lies 9 - 12
  • Plan To Slow Covid USA Slide 13
I personally would vote for Biden because he keeps his promises.
How would you vote for and why?
How do you think would win?

Anyway,
bye!

Experience Of The Work.... E1

     Hey Bloggers!

Monday last week was an exciting day for me because.... I started work experience! Auto Mechanics. Awesome, right? I'm doing work experience at the A A Auto. We (Mum and I) had to buy Steel Cap boots and overalls (I look stupid in the overalls).

On my first day (monday) I meet some of the team. There was: Hamish, Rob (also known as Ginger), Steve, Andy, and a few others (whom I don't know the names of).

I worked with Andy.

We took the wheels/tyres of a car. Then he taught me how to take the wheel of a tyre use a machine.

This is what this type of pulley looks like.
All of a sudden, it was 5:00 (that is when the workshop shuts).

Overall, it was a great experience. I loved it!
I'd love to do it again.
Have you ever done work experience?
If you have, then do you like it?
Do you want to do work experience?

Anyway,

bye

WHAT DID WE DO???

 Hey Bloggers!

Yesterday was Rimu's Y 7 & 8 manual, but Albin and I missed the bus to go to manual.

Because we didn't know what we were supposed to do, where as everyone (the Y 6s) else did.

So Miss Rennell told Albin and I to make something to teach our class, so we made this:

We did pretty well in a short amount of time.

Overall, I did learn something new. I honestly didn't know that California holds the world record for the tallest trees!

Anyway,
bye for now!

Class Speeches? Already?

 Hey Bloggers!

These past few days our class has been writing speeches (we did the same thing last year).

I wasn't to fond of the idea.

Last year when I did my speech it didn't go so well. I was shaking and constantly saying 'um'. I was nervous and scared.

But this year I have improved quite a lot compared to last year. my class had something called 'Q-cards'.

I read out the introduction part then I just got carried away with my topic, which was 'Why The Human Race Is Making Earth Suffer'.

Here is my intro before I got carried away with my speech...

Did you know that humans kill roughly 3 billion animals each day?

The earth is suffering because of us.

We are killing earth and we don’t even realize it.

Us as humans on this planet are the superior race, right?

It’s up to us to fix this mess we created.

Hi, I’m Dion, and today I’m talking about why we need to be more careful with what we do to our planet.

We only have one earth after all.

So why is this massively growing problem simply being ignored?

How many of you have actually seen a mine?

How many of you use plastics every day?

That is why I give you this speech….

If you want to read the rest of my speech, here's a link.

Speech 2020

Overall, I think I did a great job. I had a better experience than last year. BWY, I want to thank Albin and Alan for helping me!

Anyway,

bye!

I Have A Dream....

 Hey Bloggers!

We are about to start our learning on speeches in Rimu. When I heard this I felt anxious and worried because last year I didn't do so well (yeah, I'm one of those people that have stagefright)....

Before we get into all the deep learning and creating, we had a task to do to train our brain. In order to set up our mindset for speeches, we used the six tools in the Mental Toughness toolkit to create a motivational drawing of ourselves (though I didn't do one of myself, because that's just me I guess). We used google drawings and my DLO is below, a visualisation of me (not) during my speeches learning. MY dream for how it will all go....

While I was creating this drawing I wondered if these were actually going to help me. The hardest/s part for me during speech is going to be presenting and maybe the writing. The easiest part is going to be listening to everyone else's speeches. I choose these tips for myself because I will most likely need some motivation.

Have you ever written and presented a speech before?

Are there any tips that you could give me?

Why would you choose those tips?

If you are writing a comment on this  blog, you could use these sentence starters:

POSITIVE  -  The part that stood out was....

THOUGHTFUL  -  You taught me....

HELPFUL  -  Make sure you....

Anyway,

thanks for reading.

Bye!
